By now, we all know that everything in universe is in movement. Everything is on its way to somewhere, everything moves. Nothing stands still, where we are going, we don’t know. So, it is the same thing in our beloved lives. The entire universe moves and we move with it. An unknown journey of life.

The trilogy of life, obviously deals with our life itself, is a bit simple as forms and shapes, but the real subject is still clear, it is always the story of men or women, living a life. The design once again shows time, space and life as a combination of all of them, affecting our normal lives, day in and day out. Yet, once again the element of time is somehow disturbing, because clearly even in this design of mine, we see again those delicate and sophisticated machines supposedly showing time. Although just as a design, as usual, the clocks and watches have no hands or their big and small hands are falling down. Even if according to mathematics and physics they are the real indicators of time, but somehow, they can be ignored by human beings. But as you see, the rest of the three designs are very clear and simple to watch, read and perceived.

Of course, it has three parts because it is a trilogy. I drew this when I was relatively young and still naive and had a very simplistic view of life: youth, middle age and old age. These stages of life are shown in a single frame and not separate, as almost a collage. Each stage is also shown separately, with its own descriptions.

Youth

On the left of the drawing, there is a beautiful youthful girl, without thoughts, but full of energy, life, happiness and joy, swinging around weightlessly. This is the childhood including the time of her teenage years. So we see an innocent and very young girl on a swing of life, while holding the pendulum of a man-made instrument of the volatile element of time. She feels that life is very easy and pleasant.  She seems oblivious to the fact that life per se’ is very short, and regrettably sometimes very cruel. The clock at the top as usual has no hands and it is totally stopped, so the people in the drawing are happy. This maybe is one way to ignore the passing of time during the beautiful, light and precious period of the girl’s life.

 Middle Age

In the center, the design shows the middle age period. It is a period of knowledge, maybe a time of self-realization and recognition, with moments of understanding, and maybe hopefully in the end, a time of recognition and wisdom. At this age, one way or another, we feel, understand and somehow, we respect life more. We appreciate our surroundings. We get involved with other people. We make friends, we may learn about generosity and giving and sometimes paying back. This age is definitely about the need of attachment, the marvelous endearment and finally wisdom and love.

 Old Age

As I said, when I drew this, I was still pretty young and had a more pessimistic view of old age. As the image suggests, in old age we still want to be sexually active and alive, but we have gotten a little ugly.  We can see where we are headed, below, but we are not ready for that yet.  Considering it well, old age could be a very beautiful period of our lives, and it is like a powerful entity or a sycamore tree that now is fully grown and deep into the hard ground.
